After five years in leading management positions with Ferrari S.P.A., his last position held was Director of Sales and Marketing of Ferrari and Maserati Woldwide, Andrea Zappia was appointed Vice President of Global Marketing at FILA Holding S.P.A., one of the leading companies in the field of footwear and apparel for sports and leisure-wear.
Having obtained a degree in Economics and Commerce at the University Of Bologna, Italy, Andrea Zappia commenced his illustrious career with Procter & Gamble, Italy in February 1988. Five years later he became Marketing Manager for the Fragrances Division of Health and Beauty/Cosmetics, followed by a year as Key Accounts Manager of National Chains and Euro Marketing Manager/Strategic Planning for Procter & Gamble ETC (Brussels).
In July 1996, Andrea moved to Ferrari S.P.A as Director of Sales Ferrari. He became Director of Sales Ferrari and Maserati, when the two companies joined forces in 1997. Andrea’s wealth of experience in respect of customer relationships, marketing mix and the placing and development of products, especially luxury products sold in limited series, proved to be invaluable.
At the end of 1998, he advanced further up the corporate ladder as Director of Sales and Marketing Ferrari and Maserati Worldwide. In this capacity, Andrea was responsible for profit and volume of the three subsidiaries, based in North America, Germany and Switzerland, respectively, and for sales world wide. He also managed the organisation’s Marketing, After Sales, Service, Customer Web Site and B2B with the sales network.
With the intention of turning the company´s orientation more towards marketing, Fila Holding hired Andrea Zappia in March 2001. In addition to growth of sales, margins and market share in each country, Andrea is establishing guidelines for each Fila product category in terms of investment and marketing mix strategies, and developing retail strategy and line extension opportunities.
