Eduardo Aninat is a recognised global finance expert who was the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the IMF and World Bank in 1995-96, and served three years as a member of the Development Committee of the World Bank and the IMF, representing Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Uruguay and Paraguay. He was the Finance Minister of Chile from 1994 to 1999 and has been a consultant for such international institutions as the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank, and he has advised a number of governments.

Eduardo Aninat has an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University. He has taught Public Finance and Economic Development at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and was an Assistant Professor of economics at Boston University. He was the President of the Social Equity Forum (SEF), organized under the sponsorship of the Inter-American Development Bank. He has been a member of the Boards of Directors of several private companies and institutions in Chile and abroad.
