24 year old Andini’s innovations in green energy inspire others to invent their own solutions.
Filipina-Polish Canadian Ann Makosinski is one of Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30, Times Magazine’s 30 Under 30, Glamour Magazine’s College Women of the Year, Entrepreneur Magazine’s Young Millionaires & Popular Science’s Young Inventor of the Year.
She was recently chosen as one of three Canadian leaders for the United Nation’s Ubuntu Initiative, and invited to become an Abundance 360 Scholar.
Ann Makosinski is a serial inventor and media darling doing numerous global appearances and keynote talks. Her first toy was a box of transistors, which launched her journey into the world of inventing. Ann participated in local science fairs starting grade 6, and in grade 10 her inspiration grew when her friend in the Philippines failed her grade because she had no electricity or light to study at night. The Hollow Flashlight was invented… a flashlight that runs off the heat of the human hand! Ann won numerous awards at the Intel Science and Engineering Fair, and ultimately won the age 15-16 category at the 2013 Google Science Fair.
Her next invention was the eDrink, created out of necessity after listening to her high school friends complain about their hot coffee taking too long to cool down, and their phones are always running out of battery. Coffee and phones being a mainstay to her generation, Ann combined the two to solve their problem. This invention converts the excess heat of your coffee while cooling into electricity, which will give your phone or iPod a boost of energy. The eDrink won at the 2015 Intel Science and Engineering Fair.
Founder of Makotronics Enterprises, Ann has just completed development on her collection of innovative children’s toys powered by green energy and she is currently in talks with toy companies for distribution.
Ann spoke at the Forbes Impact Summit in NYC, the Congreso Futuro in Chile, the Atlantic Festival in Ireland, the Y20 Summit in Argentina, and the EF Leadership Summit in Berlin.
In February 2022, Andini became one of the campaign faces of Maybelline New York’s new Green Edition makeup line, a major effort towards more sustainable practice and packaging in the beauty space. She was also invited by the luxury travel company Abercrombie and Kent to join as a member of their expedition staff for the “Inspiring the Next Generation” luxury expedition for both years 2020 and 2021. Also, Ann appeared with Miley Cyrus for Converse, was named the global brand ambassador for Uniqlo fleece, in addition to endorsing many other brands including the Google Pixel 2, where she worked with Vice to create the campaign.
