Maria FG has led AI teams long before it became mainstream. She guided early developments in computer vision for virtual reality and retail analytics, oversaw algorithms that personalize Meta (Facebook) videos for billions of users, and drove the “VR for Work” initiative with the launch of Oculus for Business, Meta’s first direct hardware offering for enterprises. She also spearheaded generative AI innovations in Gmail at Google.
Previously, she served as Vice President of Product at Clear Labs, a biotech company focused on food safety through genomics, and at RetailNext, a pioneer in computer vision–based retail analytics.
She is also the co-author of the book “Sail to Scale: Steering Startups Clear of Mistakes from Launch to Exit” (2024), aimed at helping founders make key decisions throughout their startup growth journey.

Maria FG holds a degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Zaragoza (Spain) and Enssat (France), and has completed executive education at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. She is trilingual in English, Spanish, and French.
