Lluis Bassat is the Chairman Emeritus of the Bassat Ogilvy Group, Spain′s No. 3 advertising agency, with $250 million a year in revenues and also a member of the Ogilvy Worldwide Board and the Ogilvy Worldwide Creative Council. Furthermore Bassat serves as Chairman of WPP Iberia (Spain and Portugal).

Lluis Bassat is the winner of more than 300 national and international advertising awards. He was also awarded a Barcelona ′92 Gold Medal in recognition of the success of the Olympic Ceremonies he organized for the 1992 Barcelona Summer Games and awarded with “the key of Barcelona” for his outstanding role in defending the values of Barcelona and its projection.

Lluis Bassat is author of “The Red Book on Advertising” and “The Red Book on Brands”. He has given conferences and seminars on advertising in nearly every major city in the world. He has been nominated “Professional Man of the Year 1995” by the Marketing Club of Barcelona and awarded with “The Best Business Carrier” in Catalonia by Dossier Economic (weekly economic press).

Lluis Bassat was awarded “Best Spanish Advertising Man of the C20th” according to a survey carried out by “El Publicista” magazine amongst advertisers, agencies, media and services throughout Spain; He also was awarded “The best Spanish Advertising Manager of the C20th” by “Anuncios” magazine and  “The best Latin-American Advertising Professional of the C20th” by the ALAP (Latin American Advertising Agencies Association).

Lluis Bassat has a degree in Advertising, in Social Sciences and Business Administration. From 1987 until 1995 he was Adviser to the Advertising, Communication and Image of the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Catalonian Autonomous Government. During 1998 and 1999, Lluis Bassat was the Vice Chairman and Chief Creative Director of Ogilvy Europe, Africa and the Middle East operating out of London.

Lluis Bassat was the first Spanish man to head the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and his interest in social issues led him to be President of the Fundación Carmen and dedicated to helping people in need.
